We are delighted to announce that Walker Engineering NW Ltd. are through to the finals of the Mersey Maritime Industry Awards for the third year running. This follows recognition as the SME of the Year in 2019 and Engineering company of the Year in 2020. This year’s awards are later than in previous years due to the pandemic. Voting is now open on the MMIA website and the final winners will be announced at Liverpool Football Club on Friday the 17th of September 2021.
This year’s awards will specifically look at how well businesses in our sector have weathered all the problems created by the COVID-19 lockdowns and supply chain disruption. The theme is “Building Back Better” and Walker are therefore strong contenders having overcome all the obstacles to complete several important projects, notably in Scotland but also throughout the length of the country. Our recent successes are bringing in new orders and we are well set to help lead the region’s recovery.
As Andy Walker said after last year’s award: “A massive thank you must be said to the hard work and commitment to the staff and workforce put in day to day to meet our client’s needs and for their continued loyalty”. Another big thank you is also due to our loyal customers, investors and business partners. Maintaining supply chains of materials and services has been vital for us to deliver on completion date promises and keep our projects on track. Our robust and agile engineering supply chain paid off for us in 2020.”
The MMIA Awards are now considered one of the most prestigious events on the maritime and regional calendars and to once again reach the finals is a great endorsement of the strength and expertise of the company.
